About the Bursary and Why It Exists

The bursary was created in honour of the late Liz Alexander, a visionary leader and champion of agricultural innovation in Queensland and beyond.
Liz played a pivotal role in advancing the AgTech ecosystem through programs like AgFrontier and i4Connect and served on multiple boards including Cotton Australia and Plant Health Australia. 
The bursary seeks to carry forward her legacy by supporting the next generation of AgTech innovators those who combine technological fluency, entrepreneurial spirit and real-world impact in agriculture.

What the Bursary Offers

  • A $3,000 bursary support for a Queensland-based emerging AgTech leader to attend the prestigious evokeAG 2026 in Melbourne (17–18 February 2026)

  • The bursary covers registration/attendance costs

  • Recipients will gain access to a network of AgTech peers, innovators and industry decision-makers

Who Should Apply / Nominate

The bursary is open to individuals who:

  • Are working in (or emerging into) the Queensland AgTech ecosystem including startups, agribusinesses, researchers or digital-agtech innovators.

  • Are ready to grow their leadership, innovation mindset and connections across the agrifood value chain.

  • Are available to attend evokeAG 2026 in Melbourne, and willing to share their learnings back in their region.
