Future Farmers Network’s recent Sydney On Tap event brought together around 30 attendees for a great evening of catching up, sharing ideas and strengthening connections across the agricultural sector.
It was fantastic to see such a strong mix of people, including many members, in the room, spanning primary producers, industry professionals, supporters and current and past FFN directors.
A highlight of the evening was hearing from KPMG Partner and former FFN Chair, Georgie Aley, who shared insights on the key topics Boards are currently focussing on, and how we as individuals can be prepared to adapt to these trends in our own professional (and personal) lives. From geopolitics to AI, managing risks, biosecurity and the importance of strong governance at every executive level, it was a thought-provoking address which led to a productive discussion amongst all attendees.
FFN Chair Lauren Roellgen also formally announced the launch of the Future Hort Leaders’ Forum, a new major FFN initiative to be held in Toowoomba later this year, with Committee Chair Lily Cochrane in attendance, representing the group of young horticultural leaders who will lead the new event.
It was great to have the support of FFN’s partners, whose involvement helps make events like these possible, and to welcome past FFN directors, whose continued connection to the network reflects the strength of the FFN community.
A big thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to a successful night!
