In its inaugural year in 2026, FFN is proud to present the Future Hort Leaders’ Forum (FHLF), an initiative based on the highly successful Young Beef Producers’ Forum, to bring together the next generation of the horticulture industry to connect, learn and lead.
Designed by young people, for young people, the forum welcomes emerging producers and those working across the broader horticulture value chain, from advisors and agribusiness to research, tech and supply chain. Expect practical takeaways, fresh ideas and genuine connections that support you on-farm and off-farm, in life and in business.
From producers to support services, FHLF is a leading education and networking event for the future of horticulture.
What you’ll experience
Across the forum, you’ll dive into sessions and activities such as:
-
Leadership and career development workshops led by industry specialists
-
Panel discussions with horticulture entrepreneurs, researchers and supply-chain innovators
-
Future-focused sessions covering sustainability, ag-tech, robotics, climate adaptation and market trends
-
Mental health and wellbeing focus sessions
-
Education and industry pathways to showcase a breadth of programs, career stories and opportunities
-
Extensive networking, including a collaboration with the newly formed Young Horties group
Property Tour
The Property Tour will offer attendees a hands-on opportunity to see innovation in action, observing real-world operations, asking questions, and learning directly from producers in the field.
Coordinated by the committee in partnership with a local grower, the tour will showcase innovative management practices and the ways in which businesses are adapting to strengthen productivity, resilience and profitability.
Organising Committee
The FHLF Committee comprises a team of enthusiastic young leaders in the horticulture industry who will steer the organisation and facilitation of the event, ensuring a relevant and exciting program whilst developing as young professionals themselves.
The Committee comprises a mix of young growers, professionals, entrepreneurs and industry body representatives from across the horticultural sectors, who all share in the vision of the FHLF and the value it will bring to Australia’s current and future horticulture sector.
We’re on the lookout for a few extra go-getters to help pull together the 2026 forum – if this is something you’re interested in, we encourage you to apply for a Committee position. Applications close 8 April 2026. Click here to learn more and access the nomination form.
