Event Ticket Terms and Conditions
By purchasing or accepting a ticket to an event organised by Future Farmers Network Ltd (FFN), the ticket purchaser and attendee agree to the following Terms and Conditions.
1. Ticket Purchase and Registration
Tickets are subject to availability and are not confirmed until payment has been successfully received and a booking confirmation has been issued.
The person purchasing the ticket is responsible for ensuring that all information provided during registration is accurate and for making these Terms and Conditions available to any person for whom they purchase or transfer a ticket.
FFN reserves the right to refuse registration or admission where reasonably necessary, including where an attendee has breached these Terms and Conditions.
2. Ticket Transfers and Name Changes
Tickets may be transferred to another person with the prior approval of FFN.
Requests for ticket transfers or name changes must be submitted to FFN before the event. FFN may specify a cut-off date for transfers where required for catering, accommodation, security, transport or event administration purposes.
Tickets must not be resold for commercial gain without FFN’s prior written consent.
3. Cancellations and Refunds
Unless otherwise stated for a particular event, requests for cancellation and refunds must be made in writing.
FFN may establish event-specific cancellation deadlines and refund arrangements, which will be communicated on the event registration page.
Booking fees, payment processing fees and other third-party charges may be non-refundable to the extent permitted by law.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits any rights or remedies available to consumers under the Australian Consumer Law.
4. Event Changes, Postponement and Cancellation
FFN reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the event program, speakers, presenters, venues, activities, property visits, transport arrangements, catering, timings or other event components where circumstances require.
Speaker appearances and individual program sessions are not guaranteed.
If FFN cancels or makes a significant change to an event, any refund or other remedy will be provided in accordance with applicable law, including the Australian Consumer Law.
Where an event cannot proceed due to circumstances outside FFN’s reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disaster, fire, flood, biosecurity incident, public health emergency, government restriction, transport disruption or other force majeure event, FFN will communicate the arrangements available to attendees as soon as reasonably practicable.
5. Participation and Assumption of Risk
Attendees acknowledge that participation in an event, particularly property tours, farm visits, site inspections, demonstrations, transport, networking functions and other off-site activities, may involve inherent risks.
These risks may include, without limitation, uneven or slippery surfaces, machinery, vehicles, livestock, agricultural operations, weather conditions, insects, dust, noise and other hazards associated with rural, agricultural or commercial environments.
Attendees participate voluntarily and are responsible for assessing their own ability to safely participate in event activities.
Attendees must comply with all reasonable safety instructions provided by FFN, venue operators, property owners, transport providers, event staff and contractors.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FFN is not responsible for injury, loss or damage arising from risks voluntarily assumed by an attendee or from an attendee’s failure to follow reasonable safety instructions.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
6. Property Tours and Biosecurity
Where an event includes a farm, production facility, processing facility or other property visit, attendees must comply with all biosecurity, workplace health and safety, hygiene and access requirements imposed by FFN or the property owner/operator.
This may include requirements relating to footwear, clothing, personal protective equipment, vehicle access, photography, cleaning or disinfection procedures and restrictions on entering particular areas.
Attendees must disclose any relevant recent farm, property or biosecurity exposure where specifically requested by the host.
FFN or the property owner/operator may refuse access to a site where reasonably necessary for safety, biosecurity or operational reasons.
7. Health and Personal Requirements
Attendees are responsible for considering their own health, mobility and other personal circumstances when deciding whether to participate in event activities.
Attendees should advise FFN in advance of accessibility requirements that may reasonably affect their participation so that FFN can consider appropriate arrangements.
8. Photography, Video and Recording
Photography, filming and audio recording may occur throughout the event.
By attending the event, attendees acknowledge and agree that FFN may photograph, film or record them and may use their image, likeness and/or voice in photographs, video, audio and other content produced in connection with the event.
Attendees grant FFN permission to use this material for legitimate organisational and promotional purposes, including FFN’s website, social media channels, newsletters, publications, reports, event promotion, media releases and promotion of future FFN activities, without further payment or compensation.
Where reasonably practicable, an attendee who does not wish to be photographed or filmed should notify FFN before the event and advise event staff upon arrival.
FFN will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests but cannot guarantee that an attendee will not appear incidentally in crowd, background or general event footage.
9. Attendee Photography and Recording
Attendees may take photographs and recordings for personal use unless advised otherwise.
Photography, filming or recording may be prohibited during particular presentations, property tours, site visits or activities at the request of FFN, a presenter, venue or property owner.
Attendees must respect the privacy, confidentiality and intellectual property rights of other attendees, presenters and event partners.
10. Privacy and Personal Information
FFN collects personal information for purposes including processing registrations, administering the event, communicating important event information, managing catering and accessibility requirements, maintaining appropriate organisational records and providing services associated with the event.
Personal information will be handled in accordance with FFN’s Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
FFN will not provide attendee contact details to sponsors, exhibitors or other third parties for their independent marketing purposes unless the attendee has consented to that disclosure or the disclosure is otherwise permitted by law.
Where an attendee separately opts in to receive FFN news, membership information, event announcements or marketing communications, FFN may use their contact information for those purposes. Attendees may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
11. Delegate Lists
FFN may provide attendees with a delegate list for networking purposes where appropriate.
The information included will be limited to information FFN considers appropriate for that purpose and/or information the attendee has agreed may be shared.
Email addresses, telephone numbers and other direct contact information will not be provided to other delegates, sponsors or partners for marketing purposes without appropriate consent.
12. Complimentary Future Farmers Network Membership
Registration for this event includes 12 months’ complimentary membership of Future Farmers Network (FFN) at no additional cost.
By purchasing or accepting an eligible event ticket, the attendee acknowledges that they will be registered as an FFN member and agrees that the personal information provided during event registration may be used by FFN to establish and administer their membership.
The complimentary membership will commence from the date determined by FFN, generally from the date of event registration or the event date, and will continue for 12 months.
During the complimentary membership period, members may receive FFN member communications, including information about member benefits, opportunities, scholarships and bursaries, professional development, industry news, advocacy, networking opportunities, events and other FFN activities.
The complimentary membership does not automatically convert to a paid membership at the end of the 12-month period. Prior to expiry, FFN may contact the member and invite them to renew or continue their membership. Any fee applicable to a future membership period will be clearly disclosed and must be agreed to before a paid membership commences.
Attendees who are already current FFN members at the time of registration may have their existing membership extended by 12 months, or receive another membership benefit determined by FFN and communicated to them.
Membership is subject to FFN’s Constitution, membership terms and policies as applicable from time to time.
Members may unsubscribe from optional marketing communications at any time; however, FFN may continue to send communications reasonably necessary for the administration of their membership.
Personal information collected for membership purposes will be handled in accordance with FFN’s Privacy Policy and applicable privacy laws.
13. Dietary Requirements and Allergies
FFN will make reasonable efforts to accommodate dietary requirements notified by the registration deadline.
However, FFN cannot guarantee that food provided by venues or external caterers will be completely free from particular allergens or ingredients.
Attendees with severe allergies or medical dietary requirements remain responsible for assessing whether food provided is suitable for them and should speak directly with venue or catering staff where necessary.
14. Alcohol
Where alcohol is available at an event, service will be subject to applicable responsible service of alcohol requirements and venue conditions.
Attendees are expected to consume alcohol responsibly.
FFN and/or the venue reserves the right to refuse service of alcohol or require an attendee to leave where reasonably necessary for safety, compliance or appropriate event conduct.
15. Code of Conduct
FFN is committed to providing a safe, professional, respectful and inclusive environment.
Attendees must behave appropriately towards other delegates, speakers, staff, volunteers, sponsors, exhibitors, property owners and members of the public.
Harassment, discrimination, bullying, threatening behaviour, intoxication, unsafe conduct or serious disruption of the event will not be tolerated.
FFN reserves the right to refuse admission or remove an attendee from an event where FFN reasonably considers their behaviour to be unsafe, unlawful, disruptive or inappropriate. A refund may not be provided where removal results from the attendee’s conduct.
16. Personal Property
Attendees are responsible for their own personal belongings.
To the extent permitted by law, FFN accepts no responsibility for loss, theft or damage to personal property brought to an event.
17. Travel and Accommodation
Unless expressly included in the ticket price, attendees are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel, accommodation and associated expenses.
FFN is not responsible for costs incurred as a result of travel delays, accommodation arrangements or other services supplied independently by third parties, except to the extent required by law.
Attendees are encouraged to consider appropriate travel insurance where significant travel or accommodation costs are involved.
18. Third-Party Providers
Some event components may be provided by third parties, including venues, accommodation providers, caterers, transport operators, property owners and tour operators.
Attendees must comply with reasonable conditions imposed by those providers while using their services or premises.
19. Intellectual Property
Event presentations, materials, recordings, branding and other content may be protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
Unless otherwise authorised, event materials are provided for attendees’ personal and professional reference and must not be reproduced, commercially distributed or published without permission from the relevant rights holder.
20. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FFN excludes liability for indirect or consequential loss arising from attendance at, participation in, postponement of, cancellation of or changes to an event.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other right or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified.
21. Acceptance of Terms
By purchasing, accepting or using a ticket and/or attending the event, the attendee confirms that they have read, understood and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Where a ticket is purchased on behalf of another person, the purchaser is responsible for making these Terms and Conditions available to that attendee before the event.
FFN may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The terms applicable to an event will be those made available in connection with the attendee’s registration, subject always to applicable law.
