Applications open for FFN Board Directors
Applications are now open for volunteer Non-Executive Director positions on the Future Farmers Network (FFN) Board.
Australian agriculture’s future will be shaped by the people who step forward to lead it. FFN connects, supports and empowers young people across agriculture, and we’re looking for people who believe in that mission and want to help bring it to life.
Joining the Board is an opportunity to contribute to FFN and the next generation of Australia’s agriculture leaders. It’s also a chance to develop your leadership experience, build your networks and work alongside people who care about the future of our industries.
We want to hear from across Australian agriculture
FFN welcomes applicants from every state and territory, across agriculture and the wider food and fibre system. You might grow grain in Western Australia, muster cattle on an NT station, work on an oyster farm in Tasmania, or support the sector through an agribusiness or city-based role. If FFN’s mission matters to you, we’d like to hear from you.
We’re particularly interested in experience in:
- Legal
- Corporate governance
- Finance and accounting (CA, CPA or equivalent qualifications are viewed favourably)
- Marketing and communications
- Human resources or people and culture
We also welcome applicants with on-farm experience, agribusiness and agricultural services backgrounds, and knowledge of any commodity. Previous board or committee experience is helpful, but not essential.
An active, hands-on board
FFN Directors contribute between meetings as well as during them. This includes helping progress projects, supporting committees and initiatives, sharing expertise and making time to turn decisions into action.
Board commitments include:
- Monthly online board meetings, held after work hours
- An annual strategy meeting, held face-to-face or online
- Committee meetings, project work and other contributions between board meetings
The position is voluntary, with an estimated commitment of 1–8 hours per week depending on your board role and committee commitments. You do not need to have been a director before. We’re looking for people who care about FFN’s purpose, bring useful perspectives and are ready to participate actively.
Who can apply?
Applicants must be aged 18–40 and be a current FFN member.
If you’re not yet a member, you become a member of the Future Farmers Network before submitting your application.
