Meat & Livestock Australia has opened Expressions of Interest for BulkUp, a new national producer program designed to support red meat businesses to improve feedbase utilisation, production efficiency and profitability.

BulkUp is a nationally available and locally delivered program that brings together peer-to-peer learning, professional coaching and technical training within a long-term supported learning pathway. The program aims to help producers strengthen management capability, improve feed budgeting, optimise pasture utilisation and better match stocking rates to carrying capacity.

Participants will work through modules covering business management, farm systems, feedbase and livestock performance, supported by quarterly technical workshops, monthly facilitated group meetings and annual benchmarking.

MLA says the program has been developed to support producers who are motivated to progress but would benefit from ongoing guidance, structure and peer support. It also aligns with MLA’s 2030 Strategic Plan by supporting producers to drive profitable, productive and sustainable growth across the red meat industry.

BulkUp is available to all red meat producers. MLA is currently seeking producers interested in joining the first phase of the program, as well as delivery partners, group coaches and business analysts to support local producer groups.

For young farmers and future agricultural leaders, BulkUp offers a practical opportunity to build business skills, improve decision-making and connect with other producers working towards stronger, more efficient and resilient red meat businesses. Find our more here
