The Future Farmers Network (FFN) is excited to announce it is searching for a new part‑time Chief Executive Officer to guide the organisation into its next phase of growth and impact.
Led by young people, for young people, and as Australia’s only national, independent not‑for‑profit dedicated to supporting young people across all areas of agriculture, FFN plays a central role in championing the future of Australian agriculture through connection, capability building and industry engagement. The new CEO will be instrumental in strengthening FFN’s national profile and ensuring young people have the support and opportunities they need to thrive.
The FFN Board is seeking a leader who not only brings strong executive capability, but also a genuine passion for the next generation of agricultural professionals.
Reporting to the FFN Board, the CEO will oversee strategic, operational and relationship‑driven leadership across the organisation. Key responsibilities include guiding and executing on FFN’s long‑term strategy, building strong relationships with members and partners, and overseeing national programs, events, resources and bursaries.
The role also includes financial and governance oversight, performance reporting, and coordination of contractors and volunteer‑led activities across Australia.
FFN Chair Lauren Roellgen said the organisation is looking for a purpose‑driven leader with proven executive experience and strong stakeholder engagement capability.
“This role requires someone who can lead confidently and collaboratively — someone who can work closely with our Board and committees while also operating independently,” she said. “Experience in agriculture is essential, because our CEO needs to understand the realities of the industry and the aspirations of the young people within it.”
FFN emphasised that the role offers a rare opportunity to influence the future of Australia’s agricultural industry. The part‑time, remote structure provides flexibility while still delivering national impact. Experience in member‑based or not‑for‑profit organisations, strong communication skills and governance expertise are all desirable attributes.
Ms Roellgen encouraged leaders across the agricultural community to consider applying — or to nominate someone who embodies the values and vision of FFN.
“If you’re ready to help shape what comes next for Australian agriculture and the people who will lead it, we want to hear from you,” she said.
